Feature-based correspondence: an eigenvector approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
We propose a novel method for performing point.feature correspondence based on a modal shape description. Introducing shape information into a low-level matching proc’ess allows our algorithm to cope easily with rotutions and translutions in the image plane, yet still give a dense correspondence. We also show positive results for scale changes and small skews, and demonstrate how reflectional symmetries can be detected.

A Line Feature Matching Technique Based on an Eigenvector Approach
In this paper, we propose a new eigenvector-based line feature matching algorithm, which is invariant to the in-plane rotation, translation, and scale. First, in order to reduce the number of possible matches, we use a preliminary correspondence test that generates a set of finite candidate models, by restricting combinations of line features in the input image. This approach resolves an inhere...
متن کاملEvaluation of Similarity Measures for Template Matching
Image matching is a critical process in various photogrammetry, computer vision and remote sensing applications such as image registration, 3D model reconstruction, change detection, image fusion, pattern recognition, autonomous navigation, and digital elevation model (DEM) generation and orientation. The primary goal of the image matching process is to establish the correspondence between two ...
متن کاملInvariant Feature Matching for Image Registration Application Based on New Dissimilarity of Spatial Features
An invariant feature matching method is proposed as a spatially invariant feature matching approach. Deformation effects, such as affine and homography, change the local information within the image and can result in ambiguous local information pertaining to image points. New method based on dissimilarity values, which measures the dissimilarity of the features through the path based on Eigenve...
متن کاملEigenvector-Based Feature Extraction for Classification
This paper shows the importance of the use of class information in feature extraction for classification and inappropriateness of conventional PCA to feature extraction for classification. We consider two eigenvector-based approaches that take into account the class information. The first approach is parametric and optimizes the ratio of between-class variance to within-class variance of the tr...
متن کاملCamera Pose Estimation in Unknown Environments using a Sequence of Wide-Baseline Monocular Images
In this paper, a feature-based technique for the camera pose estimation in a sequence of wide-baseline images has been proposed. Camera pose estimation is an important issue in many computer vision and robotics applications, such as, augmented reality and visual SLAM. The proposed method can track captured images taken by hand-held camera in room-sized workspaces with maximum scene depth of 3-4...
